Welcome to 6th grade IDEAS at Trent Lott Academy!

Hi! I am Ms. Michele Brasher, and I am a 6th grade teacher for the Gifted education program, IDEAS, in the Pascagoula-Gautier School District.  This is my 29th year as an educator, and my 18th year to teach IDEAS!  I have a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Elementary Education; and I am a National Board Certified Teacher.

Although I was born in New Orleans, I raised my family here and consider this home.  I am a graduate of PHS and have lived in Pascagoula for most of my life.  In my spare time, I enjoy coast life!  I love to go the beach or up the river!  I also love to read and hang out with my friends and family.  In addition to teaching, I am the director of children's ministry at my church.

My students are the best and the brightest!  We study communication skills, Latin and Public Speaking.  In addition, I teach logical, critical thinking and problem solving.  We study different artists and the elements of art;  and then use the artists work to inspire our own creations.

My goal is for student to become Self-Directed learners who explore topics that interest them on their own. Learning how to research and apply information leads to Life-Long learning habits.
